The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples – Sun Celebrates Its 7th Birthday

Numerous admirers of the theatre gladly wait for every new meeting with the actors.

Our job is interesting for that our professional holidays are not only corporative meetings, it also takes pleasure for hundreds of our spectators – for children and their parents, for young, middle-aged and older people of varied employment and interests.

On 26 October at 18.30 The Theatre Gathers Friends, the theatre skit devoted to the birthday of The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples – Sun takes place in the Exhibition Hall of the Peoples’ Friendship House.

This year we are 7. During this period of time the theatre repeatedly presented the Okrug at high professional level in different festivals both in Russia and far abroad visited such countries as the USA, France, Holland, Finland and performed all over Russia and the Okrug.

In June 2008 during the 21 EU-Russia Summit and V World Finno-Ugric Congress the presidents of Russia, Estonia, Finland and heads of European Union highly appreciated the performing of theatre actors.

The theatre waits for all comers. Tickets are sold in Office 220 of the Peoples’ Friendship House.

Plans of the Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun in its new 2009-2010 theatre season

The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun opened its theatre season traditionally performing on various stages of Okrug. The theatre has taken part in such projects as the XVIII Interregional Telefestival of Informational Programs Indian Summer in Uvat; in the meeting of the Mayor of Khanty-Mansiysk and participants of the festival Golden Tambourine, and many other regional events.

The theatre is a permanent initiator of charity actions for children and old people of Ugra. So, both pupils from children’s houses and visitors of centres of daily residence for pensioners can see new performances of the theatre.

The theatre is actively working at replenishment of its repertoire, and new actors are being put into the shows known and loved by our spectators. On 18 November on the occasion of jubilee of the Khanty painter Gennady Raishev the theatre is presenting the restored show I Came into This World to See the Sun based on painter’s pictures staged by Olga Aleksandrova.

On 9 December on the occasion of Okrug’s birthday the theatre is preparing a new show Public Merrymakings of Bear. Olga Aleksandrova, Creative Manager and Director of the theatre, has been working out this idea since the first days of the theatre existence. The performance is preparing with collaboration of a scientific consultant Candidate of History science and a representative of aboriginal small-in-number people with traditional culture Timofey Moldanov.

From 21 to 25 December the theatre invites young spectators to the New Year’s performance Visiting Khanty Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, staged by the director Sergey Fyodorov (Moscow). In spring 2010 the theatre is planning to work at a new project based on the work The Cat that Walked by Himself by R. Kipling with invited specialists from Moscow

The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun opens its new theatre season

On 11 September the Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun has opened its theatre season taking part in the Ceremony of close XVIII Interregional Telefestival of Informational Programs Indian Summer in Uvat which was held at the Biathlon Centre in Uvat. The theatre showed five concert tunes.

On 15 September the actors of the theatre presented the choreographic composition Khanty Legend in the meeting of the Mayor of Khanty-Mansiysk and participants of the festival Golden Tambourine.

On 22 September at 19-00 there is show of the new performance Legend of Dushianta and Sakuntala based on the drama by Kalidas Shakuntala and Old Indian epic Mahabharata in the exhibition hall of Peoples’ Friendship House. The premiere of the new performance was in June 2009 and became a real event in cultural life of Ugra. Directors Anna-Ksenia Vishnevskaya and Timur Salihov, Choreographer Yekaterina Dobrovskaya from Moscow staged the performance

On 30 September at 19:00 the theatre presents its new concert programme Ugra Flowers to the Day of Old people. The premiere of the programme in May 2009.

Ugra Flowers is a luxury bouquet consisting of solo vocal and choral performance of folklore songs of Khanty and Mansi peoples, traditional national and modern choreography in the style of ethnofuturism. You will listen to poems by Ugra poets singing of their native land and new performing of instrumental plays.

The specialists on Khanty and Mansi languages cooperated on the concert programme. Olga Aleksandrova is a Stage Director, the Art Manager and Director of the theatre.

The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun has shown the premiere of the performance Legend of Dushianta ans Sakuntala

The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun has shown the long-waited premiere of the performance Legend of Dushianta ans Sakuntala which is based on drama by Kalidas Shakuntala and Old Indian epic Mahabharata.

On 15 June 2009 at 18-30 there was held a press-conference devoted to the show of the performance for mass media in the conference hall of Peoples’ Friendship House.

The Art Manager and Director of the theatre Olga Aleksandrova, Stage Directors Anna-Ksenia Vishnevskaya and Timur Salihov, Stage Choreographer Yekaterina Dobrovskaya took part in the press-conference.

On 15 June at 19-00 there was held the premiere show of the performance Legend of Dushianta and Sakuntala in the exhibition hall of Peoples’ Friendship House.

There was presented a philosophic story of great love of a young Indian king Dushianta and a young pure-hearted hermit Sakuntala, a story like the legends of Tristan and Izolde, Romeo and Juliette.

Dramatic art, ethnical dance and singing are naturally interlaced in the performance. Due to Khanty and Mansi language scientists being brought into the work at the show Khanty and Mansi folklore is be organically interwoven with Old Indian epic.

This show is consistent for the theatre because the relationship between Ob Ugrians and Indian has historical roots. Plunging into culture of these peoples we can find quite a number of parallels between them.

The performance “Legend of Dushianta and Sakuntala” became a bright cultural event in the sphere of theatre art of Ugra. Here are some opinions of spectators: ‘It is very beautiful and wonderful! Well done!’; ‘Thanks, I have no words to say, but only emotions. It is the first such performance. Bravo!’; ‘It is a very brave project. It’s a take-off. I can’t believe that the performance has produced for a long time. On the base of traditional culture and northern land an old legend of hot country has been born, revived or materialized to be precise.’; ‘It’s an event in the cultural life of not only Okrug but all our country!!! It’s beyond any praise! You are the best!’

The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples Sun is preparing a premiere of the new concert programme devoted to artists of Ugra.

Ugra Flowers is a luxury bouquet consisting of solo vocal and choral performance of folklore songs of Khanty and Mansi peoples, traditional national and modern choreography in the style of ethnofuturism. You will listen to poems by Ugra poets singing of their native land and new performing of instrumental plays.

On 14 May 2009 at 18-00 there is holding a press-conference devoted to the show of the new concert programme for mass media in the conference hall of Peoples’ Friendship House.

The Art Manager and Director of the theatre Olga Aleksandrova, Stage Choreographers Eugenia Bespalova and Faina Ishtimirova, Soloist Sofia Shestalova take part in the press-conference.

On 14 May at 18-30 there is holding the premiere free show of the concert programme Ugra Flowers in the exhibition hall of the Peoples’ Friendship House.

On 15 May at 19-00 spectators can see the new concert programme Ugra Flowers once more time in the exhibition hall of the Peoples’ Friendship House. A ticket costs 100 rubles.

The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples’ Sun invites everybody to free show of the concert programme Tour of Three Worlds

On the eve of Victory’s day The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples’ Sun of Khanty-Mansiysk invites everybody to the festive show of the concert programme Tour of Three Worlds in honour of Great Patriotic War veterans.

The free show is holding on 8 May at 16:00 in the exhibition hall of the Peoples’ Friendship House (the first floor).

Together with actors spectators are making a wonderful travel into the mysterious world of the Khanty and the Mansi peoples mythology.

On 13 April a St-Petersburg Television recorded the best concert tunes of the theatre.

On 15 April there is showing the performance Fairy-tales of the Land where the Sun is Warm to children in the Children’s House Serebryanye Krylyshki (Silver Wings).

On 20 April at 16.00 a spectator can see the performance for children Fairy-tales of the Land where the Sun is Warm based on Khanty and Mansi fairy-tales in the Conference Hall of Peoples’ Friendship House (ground floor).

Spectators came into the magic world of Ugra peoples’ fairy tales, where cowardly huge forest creatures Menkvs live, Pike’s head gets alive, silly Mouse becomes clever. Fairy tales teach us to live friendly and to be in harmony with each other and nature.

On 23 April The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples’ Sun is taking part in the Closing Ceremony of VII All-Russian TV Contest TEFI-Region 2008

On 24 April the theatre is holding a meeting with the theatre’s actors where everyone can communicate with leading actors of the first in history theatre of indigenous small-in-number peoples.

On 29 April at 19.00 the theatre is presenting the concert programme Songs and Dances of Ugra in the Exhibition Hall of the Peoples’ Friendship House.

On the Eve of International Theatre’s Day The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples’ Sun invites everybody to a Theatre Skit

Khanty-Mansiysk – On the Eve of International Theatre’s Day The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples’ Sun invites everybody to a Theatre Skit On 27 March at 18.00 there is presenting the Theatre Skit-Concert in the exhibition hall of the Peoples’ Friendship House, where one can see the best humour and concert tunes of the theatre.

That day The Theatre of Ob-Ugrian Peoples’ Sun is celebrating the International Theatres’ Day established by IX Congress of UNESCO International Theatre Institution in 1961.

Some representatives of Khanty-Mansiysk Regional Department of All-Russian Political Party Yedinaya Rossia are expected to congratulate the theatre’s group with its professional day.

It is not only a simple professional day, but also a holiday for millions of spectators.
