Dear friends!

We invite you to visit the first in Russia professional national theatre of the Khanty and Mansi peoples. There are no small or big peoples. The history and culture of every nation is great and wealthy in its essence. Every nation carries powerful energetic potential of its own identity, which creates a multicolor blooming meadow in the world of culture.
The Khanty and Mansi peoples are peoples of forests and reindeer. Since olden days they were engaged in hunting and fishing. For all their life from birth to death they communicated with spirits and idols. What do the idols send? What do the spirits answer?

The language of folk art does not require any translation. A symbol can overcome all linguistic borders. The true symbol always has intensity, multiregularity and diversity. In our creative work we rely on symbols, which have parallels in different cultures. Exactly symbols considered to become a peculiar “bridge” between people, who belong to other ethnic and religious worlds. There is no anything more interesting than the unlimited process of meanings recognition, hidden under different forms, signs and numbers.

We invite you to plunge into the magic and mysterious world of national folklore, the world of traditional music and dance, which have come to us from ancient days. The art of the Khanty and Mansi peoples combines beauty and mystery, power and tenderness, having kept its own originality. In our performances you will hear ancient music, songs and prayers, you will have a chance to watch national male dances of hunters and fishermen bewitching by its inner energy, female dance “Kurenka” full of national humor and inner temperament.

The actors of the theatre are youths, they are students of Ugra State University. All of them are possessors of traditional culture of the Khanty and Mansi peoples, they are its roots and tree. In that is the great meaning of generation succession, the sign of that the traditional culture is alive and goes on in children and grandsons. We hope that it also will occupy its own place in hearts of our spectators.

Dear friends! We give you the precious placer of national folklore as the tree of life gives us its new sprouts.
